10 Skillshare classes you should watch

Skillshare is an online learning community with courses in many different categories (arts, entrepreneurship, technology, lifestyle…). You can access all courses with just one yearly/monthly subscription (that is, you don’t have to pay for each individual course!).

Courses are short and easy to follow (from 20 minutes to 2 hours), so they are great to discover new things, and if you are interested in the subject, you can learn more with other courses in that same category.

Would you like to try it for free? Many artists offer 14 days premium trials – no commitments, cancel anytime – so you can check if it is what you are looking for. Also, the courses you watch during that free trial will be always available, even if you go back to a free account. Just make sure that you set your alarms, or you’ll be charged when the free trial is over!

Calligraphy

There are many calligraphy courses, depending on the tool you are using. There are two interesting courses for brush pen and pointed pen (dip pen) calligraphy. They also have different templates, so you can easily follow them from home.

Modern Brush Calligraphy
Learn basic strokes, writing lowercase and uppercase, and how to connect letters to form a word with your brush pens (and then, break the rules and develop your own style!)

Modern Script Calligraphy
Learn how to use your nibs! From materials and setting up a workspace to basic shapes, line widths, movement, and connecting individual letters.

Lettering

I’ve watched over 30 lettering classes on Skillshare! And I learn something new every time. You can start with these two amazing classes, and when you finish them, Skillshare will recommend similar classes that you’ll love. Cool, huh?
